A successful exit is like anything in business, its about planning and timing!

When considering exit there are a number of ways it could go there is generally two options

• Management Buy Out

• Management Buy In

• Trade Sale 

There are positives and negatives against all and dependant on your firm and situation, one maybe worth considering before the other.

An important note is that for an MBO, your current management team do not always need to personally fund the purchase of shares. There are lenders who will fund the purchase of shares and invest into the business.
